Simple Internet Phone (SIP) utilizes the Internet to carry voice calls to any telephone worldwide.
Bluemaxx believe this service is not designed to replace your traditional telephone connection but its meant to supply you cheaper call rates by taking advantage of Internet technology. Your traditional telephone line will still be necessary if you connect to the internet via your terestrial connection services like ADSL.
It is also necessary in case of an Australian emergency call for example 000. Since all calls are made from a Internet server the operator is unable to locate where you are making the call from, so in an emergency call you must tell the operator your location and there is no oblicgation to maintain the connection 100% of the time.
Calls from SIP device to SIP device (Internet enabled phone) over the Internet are essentially FREE. SIP calls are just packets of data going through your Internet connection; so as long as you don't go over your Internet data allocation there is usually no additional charge.
Also International, National and even Local calls can often be made using the Bluemaxx PSTN gateway for a fraction of your existing telco charges.
Over the past two years a new group of SVoIP service providers have joined Bluemaxx and been making their mark in the VoIP market, previously dominated by providers like Telstra. These providers are offering free VoIP to VoIP calls to a wide range of destinations and are capturing a significant market share. Being the first VoIP service to offer these free calls.
We, at Bluemaxx, have identified over 1000 international SIP services for the residential and SOHO (small business) market and in due course each and every Broadband or Internet phone service will be included in our extensive SIP rates database as Bluemaxx deem it appropriate.
